Great with communication and love multi-tasking and looking for a full-time position? Amtran Medical Transport is looking for a full-time dispatcher to join our team!

Summary:

Dispatchers are responsible for receiving and coordinating all service request calls and unit assignments for daily and weekly non-emergency transports that alignment with Amtran’s policies, protocols, and culture. Dispatcher are also responsible for providing pre-arrival instructions and assistance to assigned field crews during active transport.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Operates a computer-aided dispatching console, which includes Amtran’s telephone system, base radio, and computer terminal.

· Answers all calls in the communications center; gathers all necessary information to dispatch calls for units.

· Dispatches the appropriate units; Keeps track of the status and location of all EMS personnel and vehicles.

· Transmits messages and pre-arrival instruction to EMS units responding to calls.

· Coordinates with and contacts client agencies confirming service, providing estimated arrival times, patient care instruction, etc.

· Consults with supervisor on non-routine matters, as needed.

· Finalizes data entry, checking for accuracy and completeness.

· Follows established parameters/formats in receiving requests for service.

· Maintains a current working knowledge of all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

· Provides related clerical functions and additional functions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Working Knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.

· Ability to communicate clearly and professionally on radio and telephone.

· Ability to record, transmit and report information accurately.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Good organizational skills.

· Previous telecommunications experience is preferred. Current EMT Licensure a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $15.00 per hour
