This exciting event will benefit our Supported Volunteer Service Program. SVS is a mental health focused initiative that engages peers and volunteers in meaningful work that serves the organization, the individual, and the community, helping them develop confidence, coping skills, and connections.

In addition, participants also engage in regular mindfulness/wellness practices and daily affirmation group discussions, as well as monthly mental health workshops with a trauma-informed therapist. Since launching in Aug. 2024, the program has seen participation from more than 40 peers and volunteers. We truly believe this program to be a piece of prevention work, given that over half of those who are diagnosed with a mental health condition will have a SUD at some time in their lives, and the reverse is also true.
